I was very pleased with my visit to LA Nails. I had the honor of meeting Hugh, Nancy, and Viet. My experience was great! Not only do they take time to discuss your nail care, but they also take time to do your nails the right way and I didn't feel like I was being rushed in any way. Hugh has a personality that is unique and humorous.I enjoyed my conversation and experience. I would definatley recommend anyone to get their nails done at LA Nails, and I think this will be my new permanent nail salon for all my future nail treatments. A+

I have been going to LA Nails since they opened their first salon abut 16 years ago on Clinton Highway. Hugh does have a personality that if you don't understand his kidding since of humor you might find it offensive but 99% of his repeat customers understand this is his way of being funny. He is a good Christian man and runs a very clean salon. I would never consider going anywhere else for my nails. I have a standing appointment every two weeks and he has always worked with my schedule. He is the most knowledgeable person I have ever gone to regarding the care and looks of my nails. If you have no since of humor, this place would not be for you. If you appreciate someone cutting up with you and making you feel at ease and welcomed then LA Nails is the place to go. Hugh, Nancy, Ian and Kathy are the most kind and caring people you would ever meet. Anyone who has stormed out of his salon, they are the person with the problem. Carol Whetstone

I've been going to LA Nails II since it opened on Executive Park Drive. Hugh, Nancy, and Ian all do a great job! If you want an overpriced nail salon that turns the lights down low, fills the air with some unidentifiable scent, offers you something to drink, then does a terrible job on your nails, go to Belleza or Spa Visage. For nails that look great and last a long time (I've gone 5 weeks between fills!!!!), definitely go to LA Nails. I've been getting my nails done for 20+ years and have been to dozens of salons. I'm happy that my search is finally over! If Hugh ever wins the lottery and sells the business, I will hunt him (or Nancy or Ian!) down and demand that one of them continue to do my nails. Hugh's "bedside manner" might not be for everyone, but if it's top-quality nails you want, you'd be crazy to go anywhere else. Hugh and his staff genuinely care about the health of your nails, and his "bedside manner" is hilarious. Great nails, great people, and extremely fair prices!

Fourteen years ago I began going to L.A. Nails because of a referral from a friend. I had tried three other salons and the last one could not give me an appointment ever two weeks because their work was poor and they were constantly over booked. The first day I went to Joseph he spent an hour and a half explaining why my nails were not staying on. He then took his time on my nails to ensure that the health of my nails would improve. In fourteen years this was the only set of tips I have had put on my nails. Sure occasionally I will break a nail and need a tip because I use them as a pry bar or screw driver. Joseph will fuss at me and then patch me up with care. He has a wry sense of humor and those of us who love him wouldnt have it any other way. Everyone (Nancy, Ian & Rikie) at the salon is friendly and extremely careful. My natural nails grow so fast now I have to have them cut back ever two weeks so I can type. If you want have your nails cared for then go to L.A. Nails. If I could give more than five stars I would. Happy customer - Karen Irving

WOW! What to say about the nail naz1...!!! 16 years ago I was getting my nails done at a place on Kingston Pike. I would have to go every 4 to 5 days because my nails would peel off, break, or crack. Luckily, there was a very quiet man and woman there who would eventually start their own store. I jumped at the chance to go somewhere else. When I moved to Nashville for 2 years I would come home every 2 weeks so Joseph could do my nails. He is very picky about his work but he creates perfection. I no longer wear acrylic nails since he was able to break me from biting my nails and left me with beautiful, perfectly healthy nails. I would highly recommend anyone who wants beautiful nails to go see Joseph. And should he call you "monkey", please know he means it in good humor and that you are getting great service in a fun atmosphere with someone who truly cares about the end result. You will not be just another $20 in the cash drawer!

I have been going to LA Nails every 2 weeks for over 12 years. I have never had anything BUT great experiences anytime I have visited. Joseph does not care about the money...what he DOES care about is his customers and the health of their nails. What I am gathering from the bad review on here is that he did nothing but tell her the truth, which is what made her unhappy. If she is such a "heavy tipper" and not afraid to spend the money, then why is she so afraid to spend the money needed to make sure her nails are taken care of properly, i.e. removal, fill-ins, etc. Joseph and all of the techs there do everything the right way and you walk away with beautiful, healthy nails every time. I will continue to be a very satisfied customer for as long as he is there!!

I have been going to LA Nails for almost 2 years now and this is by far the best experience I've ever had! I live in Lex, KY so that should say alot about how much I really like this place. It's to the point I will not go anywhere else and I wait until I come back here for work or am passing through Knox on my way to another state. They don't drill your nails to death and the quality of the work is outstanding! I would highly recommend going to LA Nails and believe me, I've been to several nail places over the years but they do the best work!!!

Wow I can't believe these reviews! I have been going to LA Nails for almost a year now and would not even consider another salon - and believe me I have gone though several in Knox and Blount County. This is the first nail salon where the health of my nails was a priority - not to make money. Joseph is a sweet guy- he loves to kid and joke with his customers. I guess if you can't give as good as you get then no it's not the right place. I have worn acrylic for years and have had them ripped and soaked off to the point my own nails were damaged. With the care I have gotten here they are now healthy, and I can get them polished or pink/white and they are my NATURAL nails - not white tips glued on. This is the best salon in town - hands down. I will continue to go here for my nail needs.

I wish their were a choice for "zero" stars. This is the worst experience that I've had at a nail salon. I went because I heard of their good quality of service, but the manager has horrible "bedside manner". I went in without nails and Joseph went on and on and on and on about my damaged nails. He wouldn't quit commenting---I even asked him multiple times to stop. He said this again in front of another customer and then also to my nail tech----VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I then got up to leave and while I was walking to the door, he told me loudly to GET OUT! I was in shock and didn't know what to say. If you want to be humiliated while patronizing this business, then this may be the place to you. I'm a good customer and a heavy tipper for quality work--their loss!

I love Nancy and the new old guy Ian are awesome too! They will always get my business from now on (even though he jokes about your having to go to Walmart if you are ever late or miss an appt.) and no one else is touching these days nails!!!!

First time customer - will be returning! The attention to detail was awesome - I told Nancy what I wanted and walked out with EXACTLY what I asked for! Felt at home. Salon is beautiful and spacious. Hugh took the time to get to know me, see what I thought and made me feel as though I had been going there for years! My search for the perfect salon has been reached! You will not be sorry ladies!
